Cagoule'26
Made in our South Shields factory, 20 minutes down the road, in a stamped run of 40 per colour. British Millerain 100% cotton dry-wax Ranger 8 : A strong water repellant cloth, reactivated with heat.
A cagoule built like the originals were meant to be: simple, functional, and quietly overbuilt.
Made in South Shields in the North East of England, this is cut from British Millerain 100% cotton — two dry-wax Rangers, the Ranger 8 in Khaki, and the Rescue Orange in Ranger 6. No need for heavy oily waxes, this cloth simply reactivates under heat, much like the old parkas some might remember.
Unlike a lot of wax cotton, this cloth doesn’t need a lining to behave. You get the protection and the structure without the extra bulk — more breathable, less fussy, easier to wear.
Sporting a 3-piece hood, a YKK metal zip backed by a windbreak, cotton herringbone drawcord at the hood and a removable herringbone wind cord at the waist and though there shouldnt be any stress points on this garment, bar tacks run throughout.
And yes — the hip pockets are sized for stashing maps. It’s a useless function now, but a subtle nod to the “explorer” idea that started this pattern in the first place.
